Creatively, we resolve to…

It’s a new year and the Craft Your Life team would like to welcome it by posting our creative resolutions for 2011. Without delay here they are:

Nicole’s Creative New Years Resolutions

As a giddy owner of a new MacBook Pro, I’m really excited to dig into some audio mixing software in the coming year. My goal is to be able to create both live and recorded DJ mixes and learn how to process recordings of my accordion and other live instrumentation. I’d also like to embrace creative collaborations on many levels, as they really motivate and challenge me in various ways.

Kathleen’s Creative New Years Resolutions
Do a weekly webcomic
Get back into stained glass
Draw and sketch more
Open an Etsy shop
Support our local artists however possible!

Beth’s Creative New Years Resolutions

Wow, it’s tough to narrow down the possibilities! Two creative goals I have for 2011 are: my slow cooker and I are going to strengthen our relationship (as I explore new vegetarian recipes suited for that magical appliance); and I plan to keep experimenting with encaustic painting. Oh, and if this counts as being creative, I resolve to finally find a place to hang that hammock I’ve been holding onto for the past five years.

(editor’s note: hanging a hammock totally counts as being creative)

Linda’s Creative New Years Resolutions

Sell my house, move off the mountain to someplace under 2500 in elevation, and buy a tiny house with a tiny mortgage.

Kristi’s Creative New Years Resolutions

Creative goal: clenched teeth
To make over a thousand sets of plaster cast teeth into artwork by October 31, 2011

Travis’ Creative New Years Resolutions

Exhibit a body of 12 mixed media paintings and a series of screenprints in April
Celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary on the West coast in May
Learn 2 new skate tricks by my birthday (July)
Build a treehouse by Oct

We would love to hear from you. What are your creative goals for 2011?

Sewing, knitting (pick it back up), blogging… lots of things going on! I’m hosting a crafty goals linkup at http://www.lindsaysews.com/2010/12/craft-2010-year-in-review.html for anyone who’d like to join

not a resolution, but we’re doing a crafty facebook thingy right now: Pay it forward 2011. I promise to send something handmade to the first five people who leave a comment here. They must in turn post this message and send something they make to the first five people who comment on their status. The rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent to five people in 2011.

I wrote a blog post about my plans for 2011 … including a great big web-based project, developing a new range of work which is a bit less reliant upon my labour and making time to learn new skills and be creative for the sake of it. http://www.blog.simonewalsh.com/2010/12/26/looking-forward-to-2011/
