If you’re anything like me, the holiday season has you craving a kitchen filled with the comforting scents of exotic spices and delectable treats both sweet and savory. When my nostrils fill with the intoxicating powers of cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom, my heart flutters a little bit at the sensory excitement of it all. It’s the smell of home, family and friends, and meals shared together over great conversations.

Well, here’s our little gift to you. For two weeks only, we are offering up to you a FREE seasonal winter recipe from Ashley English’s wonderful Homemade Living: Canning & Preserving. As Ashley puts it herself, Curried Winter Squash is “a fabulous way to preserve all those gorgeous winter squashes! Serve this chutney as a spread on hearty sandwiches, alongside roast chicken or pot roast, or simply slathered onto a crusty hunk of bread.” Yum!

Not only does this recipe (or the book for that matter!) make a wonderful addition to your own pantry, but little jars of this tasty condiment would serve as very memorable homemade treats to gift for the holidays. Have we whet your appetite enough? Go ahead and download the recipe by clicking HERE.

I hate to admit I am in my 50′s and I have never eaten chutney. BUT after looking at the picture, my mouth was watering, my gosh it looks amazing. I am craving chutney on hot toasted bread with a tall cup of coffee for breakfast.
    What a treat!
