Millie, a 37-year-old illustrator and freelance artist, lives in the beautiful seaside town of Tenby in Wales. It was this closeness to nature that inspired her to develop an obsession with all things flora and fauna. The intricate patterns of her work capture this love, and her detailed designs are a natural fit for a coloring book. Amazingly, all her images for the books are drawn by hand!

Adults are rediscovering coloring as a simple way to engage in a creative activity. When we don’t have time to be creative from scratch, the drawings on the page give us a place to start. We’ve found that the simple act of coloring focuses the mind, helping us to reduce our anxiety levels and relieve stress. So, go on—give it a try! Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore. It’s for everyone!

Wow, what a collection of kooky spam comments. Anyway, I am a real, live person who wants to say welcome back after a long absence, but I’m going to have be anonymous ‘cuz I don’t want your whackos tracking me down.

I have always enjoyed coloring, and sometimes Mom, who is in her 80s, colors along with me. We just buy regular kid’s coloring books (Superman, Sinbad, Fairy Tales, etc)at the dollar store. These are great for Mom, who needs the larger areas. I’ve also found a couple of very cool books at the thrift shop with drawings (one book is Tiffany designs) on a translucent, plastic-y sort of paper to color in for a stained glass effect art piece you can hang in the window. Millie’s books look interesting, but too complicated for Mom’s older eyes.

    Hello
My name is Desiree and I am very fond of your postcard book. I was wondering if by any chance you could make one for Christmas and all the holidays to follow?
It’s be nice to send something like that this year. I enjoy working on these alone as well as with my kids. It gives us time together and I find brings the family closer. It would make a ton of people happy as well.
Especially Valentine’s Day, they could give them to their friends at school instead of the silly little cards they’ve had for years.
I definitely could see some potential for the next years to come with holiday postcards.
I hope this idea works and look forward to colouring in them.
    Thank you

Desiree, what a great suggestion! Please do make holiday-themed postcards for coloring! I belong to an international postcard exchange group called Postcrossing, which is free to be a member of (you only pay, of course, for your postcards and the cost of mailing them). As well as sending the typical tourist-type postcards, many people like receiving “home made” postcards (I do!!) and these would definitely fit the bill. I just bought the ‘Animal Kingdom’ postcards and can’t wait to “artist them up” as I like to say, and mail them out. Holiday ones would be great!!!

Hello I am so excited I found your webpage, I really found you by accident, while I was browsing on Digg for something else, Nonetheless
I am here now and would just like to say thanks for a
marvelous post and a all round exciting blog (I also love
the theme/design), I don’t have time to browse it
all at the minute but I have book-marked it and also
added your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read
a great deal more, Please do keep up the great work.

I received your coloring book Tropical World. The pictures are beautiful and I love the book but I have an issue with it. If I want to frame any of the pictures I’ve done you can get the pages out of the book. Most of the other coloring books are perforated. Any suggestions!

    Debra Kranz says:

I received a copy of your Tropical World coloring book for Christmas. I was very excited and thought the designs are wonderful and was excited to get started. Then I tried to take the pages out, and you can’t easily. Also, then realized pages are printed on both sides, which is not good if you are going to frame, or use markers as they sometimes bleed through. So the second design is a kind of waste. Also, there are words on many pages, suggestions as to colors etc. What is the reason for that. I won’t color any of those, no use. So annoying. This book get puts to the bottom of my pile. Nice designs though, just not a useable book.

I just discovered your fabulous COLORTRONIC Coloring Book by Lauren Farnsworth. I’ve become addicted to coloring at age 73 and want to know if there are other coloring books similar to this one that I might buy in Denver or order from you or elsewhere.
    Hope to receive a reply!
Thanks for the joy you have given me!
