New Release!: Where Women Cook

Feast your eyes on Where Women Cook: Celebrate!, a delightful (and delicious!) new book by Jo Packham. Where Women Cook features 28 top food bloggers, chefs, cookbook authors, and kitchen creatives with over 60 mouthwatering recipes, oodles of gorgeous photos, and illuminating profiles that dish on the extraordinary women behind all that great food.

The book comes out on October 4th, and to celebrate this sumptuous release and welcome the joys of Fall, I’d like to share an exclusive recipe from it by Ashley English, author of the Homemade Living series and the weekly Small Measures with Ashley column on Design*Sponge. Ashley’s also a columnist for the quarterly Where Women Cook magazine (the Fall 2011 issue is on stands now). In the pages of her Where Women Cook: Celebrate! feature, Ashely offers up this irresistible recipe for Sugared Molasses Crinkle Cookies. You may as well turn on your oven now!

And, while you’re waiting for your oven to heat up, read on for some snapshots from the book. Contributors include Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman), Molly Wizenberg (Orangette), Angie Dudley (Bakerella), Serena Thompson (The Farm Chicks) and many other beloved bakers and makers. AND, be sure to stop by Lark Crafts next week for details on how you can win a copy of this amazing book. It’s time to celebrate!

One of Jamie's recipes includes Pumpkin Doughnuts with Maple Butter Glaze!

Here are some more sneak peeks from Ashley’s spread. Ashley was expecting at the time, and pulled together a lovely celebration for friends and family where she made some heavenly dishes including Butternut Squash and Gorgonzola Pasta with Seasonal Pumpkin Seed Pesto. That recipe, and another for Grit Cakes can be found in Ashley’s entry.

I’d love to hear how your Molasses cookies turn out, so please leave a comment and feel free to share the recipe, and this link, with your friends.
