The Dog Days of Summer Giveaway

August 25, 2011, 16:59 pm  Posted by Lark

It has been a hot summer!  Often our faithful companions are right there with us—panting all the way. Perhaps that’s why the hottest months get named “The Dog Days of Summer”. Lark Crafts has done numerous books celebrating dogs: from canine costumes, to circus tricks, to bark out loud jokes.

To celebrate the approaching end of summer  we are giving away a set of six books focused on dogs: Bow Wow Wow: Fetching Costumes for Your Fabulous Dog by Cathie Fillian; You Lucky Dog: More Than 30 Craft Projects to Unleash Your Pup’s Personality; Circus Tricks for Your Dog: 25 Crowd-Pleasers That Will Make Your Dog a Star by Rick Martin; Green Dog, Good Dog: Reducing Your Best Friend’s Carbon Paw Print by Dominique DeVito; Calling All Dogs!: Grrreat Names for Your Perfect Pooch; and finally A Dog Walks into a Bar… Dog Jokes So Funny You’ll Beg for More.

So, you love your dog, right? Tell me what you love best about your canine best friend, whether they are a good sport ready to perform any trick for treats or a Diva waiting to be dressed up and served.

To enter for a chance to win a set of six books (You Lucky Dog; Bow Wow Wow; Circus Tricks for Your Dog; Green Dog, Good Dog; Calling All Dogs!; and A Dog Walks into a Bar), please leave a comment on this post by 9 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 1st. One winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries and notified by Monday, September 5th.

We have two, Dixie and Kadie. They are the same breed, one long hair, one short, but they are very different. Dixie is our playful gal; this little short hair dachshund loves to play tug-of-war with you and one of her stuffed animals. Kadie is Miss Mellow; this long hair doxie will climb up on the couch next to you and then flip herself back, so that she is sitting up, her belly exposed for a good scratch. They make us laugh, and keep us entertained!

The thing I love about my dogs is that they just want to be with me.  No matter what I am doing; laying around watching tv, going for a walk, or working on a project, they just want to be there with me.

My dog sings along whenever my son plays violin.  He puts up with fiddle tunes but loves Vivaldi.  He does it like he thinks it his job to do it.  He’s very funny.

My Golden Retriever, Cooper, makes me laugh every day. Between his unconditional love and goofy hijinks, he is my almost constant companion that I just adore.
