Like many women, I pride myself in my personal jewelry collection I’ve built over the years that I believe speaks volumes about my personal aesthetic. What I HAVEN’T prided myself in- is how I would just throw my pieces into a jewelry box or just lay pieces by the sink at the end of the day (that could eventually drop into the sink, clog the drain and come out wearing clumps of my hair; NOT my personal aesthetic.)
SO, since I think my pieces should be shown-off (I’m sure you feel the same way about your awesome collection of jewelry!)- I’ve researched some killer ways to show them off.
This video I found on YouTube illustrates how to use an old frame and some screen material to hang your earrings and necklaces on. This picture shows how you could also use the same concept with material, like a vintage pillowcase that lost its mate OR you could place a cool poster BEHIND the screen and frame that to hang your pieces on. Click HERE for a step-by-step tutorial. Wrap the pillowcase over 1/2″-thick foam that is backed with cardboard. To hang the necklaces, just stick in small pins to tack up the sides.
For an earthy affect, you could also hang your pieces on the sturdy branches of a tree that you can paint and then secure in a small pot secured with oasis or foam covered with moss or pebbles.
For those pieces you CAN’T hang, I discovered an awesome and shabby-chic-like way to display them by using old teacups (I have a LOT from my grandmother) that haven’t been used in a tea party for years.
