This year, did you make a resolution to better yourself? Maybe you’re planning to exercise more, to indulge less (oh, sweet holiday goodies!), to learn a new craft, or to volunteer more. As always, we’re here to help! Kick-start your charity crafting resolution with Project Linus, an amazing organization that provides handmade quilts and blankets to children who are sick, traumatized, or otherwise in need. There are lots of ways to get involved. You can donate blankets, your time, your energy, and more.

And to get you in the spirit, we’re giving away a Quilt It with Love prize pack, including the book, a stack of charm packs, and some goodies from Project Linus. To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post by 9 p.m. EDT on Thursday, January 10. Any comment is fine, but we’d love to hear about your new years resolutions, especially the crafty kind. One winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries and announced by Friday, January 11. Click here for the official rules.

Thanks to everyone who commented: your 2013 resolutions are so inspiring! The winner of the prize pack has been contacted. Stay tuned this month for more Quilt It with Love goodness!!

Part of my end-of-year tasks is to sort out my amassed computer files, especially the various tutorials and patterns I’ve collected online during the year. This year as I go through my files, I am especially struck by how many really nice designs I have collected – and I am resolving to make at least ONE of these during the course of this year. I hope to do more quilting for charity, too.

    :) Linda

I plan to work on projects all through the year. In that spirit, I have completed five small gifts that were not finished (actually not even started) in time for Christmas 2012; I’ve put these away for Christmas 2013.

Less time on the internet more time on projects

  • woolensails

I talked with a woman at a quilt show about project linus and would love to do quilts for them. I always thought i had to be better at quilting, but she assured me that I didn’t have to be an expert to make quilts. I plan on quilting more this year and practicing my free motion skills, so I can make more charity quilts.

I’ve resolved to finish at least one quilt a month from my tall stack of quilt tops, plus lose some weight (and keep it off this time). Looks like I’m going to exceed my quilt quota for January, but my weight loss plan hasn’t gotten started yet. Thanks for the great giveaway.

In past years I’ve had a long list of things I resolve to do that year and each one I’ve never followed through with. This year however, I have made an easy one that will allow me to do more sewing and quilting than I have in past years. STOP READING and START DOING!! Basically, get off that computer and stop finding more tutorials because the skills you have should be used and not collected in a folder of ideas. Ideas are only hepful if you act on them and use them so yep, get off the computer and SEW/Quilt/DO!

I’ve been wanting to suport Project Linus for a number of years. I’ve reached out to our crafting group at work to find volunteers to join me in supporting Project Linus by making blankets on Make a Blanket Day on February 16, 2013. This year I will make at least 1 blanket to donate to Project Linus. Please join me and make a blanket to donate!

My new years resolutions are probably small: to learn how to sew well with bias tape and zippers…and to actually make a flat quilt top.

  • http://twitter.com/paints48 Deci J Worland

I would like to make quilts for foster children this year.

  • Carmen

My crafty goals this year are to make myself a knit sweater and make a quilted blanket

  • Jennifer Flowers

Many of my resolutions have to do with crafting. Spend more time on it, try new techinques, get the stash reduced, My biggest resolution is to learn quilting and to complete my first quilt! Project Linus would be the perfect motivation.

What a neat book, I’ve seen it and it’s on my list. My goal this year is to get some of my UFOs done. Everytime I say “no more classes” another gorgeous project comes along and who knows if the class will repeat? So I start another project. Well, that’s my argument anyway, hehe.

Thank you for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win.
