Are all you busy little elves dreaming of what you’ll make from the felt in our fa-la-la-la fabulous giveaway? Well, here’s one more freebie project that’s absolutely perfect for your felt scraps.

drawn template for ornament piecesThese felt ornaments are super simple and quick. First, make your pattern as in the photo at the left; basically, it’s 4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. Cut six pieces of felt per ornament (each ornament will be roughly 4 inches in diameter); mix and match colors as you like. Assemble the ornament from two pairs of three pieces each, placing the wrong sides together; start and stop about 1/4 inch from the end of each piece so the pieces can align. Stitch the two pairs of three together, leaving an opening to turn. Stuff with fiberfill and slipstitch the opening to close. Add decorative stitching to cover the seams; I used blanket stitch and whipstitch, working with metallic thread for a little sparkle. Make a hanger, and go have some eggnog!
