Halloween Bag from Heart-Felt Holidays

Heart-Felt Holidays, our follow-up to the best-selling Fa la la la Felt, is chock-full of felt crafts for the entire year, but it has some especially great projects for Fall when Halloween is almost here, Thanksgiving is around the corner, and it’s not too soon to start crafting for Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa.

So break out the felt, download the Halloweenie Bag project right here, and make Cathy Gaubert’s Halloweenie Bag for your little trick or treater now! Or just enter to win the bag (see below)  and make another project from the book (such as Ellen Luckett Baker’s clever Bat Costume or Cathy Ziegele’s Great Mini Pumpkins). You can get the book (for less than $10!) right now from BN.com or Amazon.com.

I love everything Cathy Gaubert designs, but Halloweenie and Jack, who grace the treat bag’s front really crack me up. She designed it on the small side, with little trick or treaters in mind, but if you’re like me and have been know to raid your kids’ candy bags after they’re in bed some nights, just make yours a bit (or a whole lot!) larger.

My favorite costume was one of the monsters from Where the Wild Things Are – I wore a giant paper mache head!

I LOVE the felt pumpkins…these would be wonderful also in felted hand dyed plaid wool…so sweet and perfect for fall.

I’m not much of a Halloween person, never was, but I have an unreasonable affection for a cheap Cinderella costume, complete with plastic mask that got all hot and sweaty as I raced from house to house.

    Super cute ideas

My favorite costume was one my mother made for my sister – it was a Winnie the Pooh outfit made with blanket material. So soft and extremely warm. She wore it for a year or two as pajamas.

I don’t remember any of mine, but my favorite one for my daughter was a sunflower costume I made. I was made from a long sleeved and legged onsie type outfit. Then I cut out petals and leaves from felt and sewed the petals around the neck. Then sewed on ladybug buttons. It was too cute. I think it is still here somewhere.

I remember being Superwoman, in like underroos or something. But my mom made me wear a sweater and I was so MAD! I remember pouting and saying, ‘Superwoman doesn’t wear sweaters…’ looks like a great book!

I love a witches Halloween outfit. Depending on how you make it look it can be fun, scary or sexy. It’s versatile for any age.

    Raina DelRio says:

My fave costume was my Little Orphan Annie costume. I spent the day before in curlers, and my mom put in a temporary hair dye. I still have the dress, to this day, even though I could probably only fit my foot in it now.

Such cute costumes and items. My favorite halloween costume was when I dressed up as a gypsy. I wore alot of my Mom’s jewelery, a kerchief in my hair, big earrings and a long “flowey” skirt.

Thank you for a great giveaway and a chance to win.

My mother turned me into a beautiful yellow flower in fourth grade. I wore a a green dress and she made the petals of my hat from yellow felt glued to pipe cleaners. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any pictures of it. Halloween brings back such fun memories!

THANK YOU for the really cool bag and book that is chock-full of projects I want to try. It was so exciting to win both. Thanks again.
