What’s better than one Lark author at Rhinebeck? Four, of course. In addition to Vickie Howell’s recap of her trip to the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival, authors Dora Ohrenstein, Iris Schreier, and Laura Zukaite were also there. Laura was kind enough to send along her own review and photos of the trip. Read more about Laura and her new book, Luxe Knits: The Accessories here and here, and download a free project here.
Laura writes: This is my favorite time of the year. I did not get much knitting done on my way to Rhinebeck last Saturday—I was snapping photos of the beautiful fall foliage instead.
It was a gorgeous day and there was a great turnout at NYS Sheep & Wool festival. I was very excited to have a signing of both Luxe Knits and Luxe Knits: The Accessories at the Merritt Bookstore booth in the morning. I was sitting among many well-known authors and was surprised by how many people already knew about Luxe Knits. I was quite flattered to learn that most knitters thought I looked too young to be the author of the books at the signing table!
After the signing I still had some time to peak around: By noon an entire place looked like it was a food festival. I visited the sheep, rewarded myself with apple crust and ice cream, and checked out all the fabulous yarns. Guilty as charged—I did not walk out without a project: I fell in love with the beautiful alpaca tweed from A Touch of Twist and already started knitting my new ski sweater for this season!
Here are some of Laura’s photos from the day. Thank you, Laura!
