Sharing the Joy of Socks!

What better way to spice up your socks life than with a new pair of hand-knit lovelies? Or maybe you want to show someone special you really care this Valentine’s Day? Either way, the Joy of Socks kit can take you there with 30+ masterful sock designs, a set of 5 double-pointed needles, two skeins of superwash merino yarn, and plenty of giggles along the way.

To enter to win the Joy of Socks book and kit, please leave a comment on this post by 9 p.m. EST on Thursday, February 2nd. Any comment is fine—though we’d love to hear what crafty things you’re making – or planning to make – for Valentine’s day. Three winners will be selected at random from among all eligible entries and notified by Friday, February 3rd. Click here for the official rules.

    I have never knitted socks.  I’m a relatively new knitter so it’s only been square and rectangle projects for me like washcloths (which I love) and scarves.  I’m a self taught knitter, crocheter, cross-stitcher, etc.  so I’m always looking for new things to learn.

    I don’t know what ill be knitting for valentines day currently working on knitting scarves to donate to an organization. In doing so enlisting help from new knitters to help which is awesome

    I’m knitting a scarf for Valentine’s Day, but I’d like to knit some socks for my father.  This book looks like just the right item to ‘nudge’ me into picking up 4 or 5 little knitting needles.   (Cheshire Cat grin)

    Socks are next on my list to tackle – after years I’ve started back knitting, and have finally learned to follow patterns and knit in the round. Right now I’m making a cowl knit in the round and a pair of flat knit (folded) slippers.

    Socks are my favorite knit ~` fit in the purse and can add a row or two at almost any time ~~ great for lap knitting at round table meetings!

    I have no crafty plans for anybody else this Valentine’s Day, but I do have some adorable fabric that would make a super cute messenger bag for myself ;)

    I would love to win this kit! I taught myself to knit and have become a master of hats, but recently I started  my first pair of socks, I am loving them!!! New ideas would be soooo cool because Im sure Im hooked on making socks!!!


    I haven’t made any socks yet. Wavering. I am collecting patterns for chemo hats. Just need an edging for a large afghan for a grandson. I started a crocheted hat in some scrap yarn I had around and if it turns out I will get some softer yarn for a chemo patient. Some UFOs hanging around

    I learned to knit as a little girl. After knitting afghans and a sweater here and there, I knit a pretty good stitch. But I have never knit SOCKS! I’m on the verge of knitting my first pair. I’ve bought four or five books, I have the needles. I’m ready! I just need a little nudge.

    OMG! I’ve been wanting and needing to make some socks. My favorite socks pattern is hiding somewhere in my apartment and try as I might I can’t find it so this is just what I need!

    I started cutting out felt hearts to make a garland for the playroom :)

    I’m not really making anything for Valentines. But I am working on crochet edging on receiving blankets. I cut and hemmed the blankets myself. I’ve tried out a couple of different edgings and it’s been really fun.

    There are some fascinating points in time in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There is some validity however I will take maintain opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as nicely
