Spring Studio Stroll: Sandy Stone

Welcome back to our Spring Studio Stroll. Join us as we take you on a journey across the country to visit some of our authors. They let us take a peek at their spaces, so we can all see where the magic happens! This week we’ll visit Minnesota to see the inspiring space of Sandy Stone, designer and author of Fabric Remix. Ok, take it away Sandy!

I love the short, vertical commute to my second-story work space in our home. With large windows on three sides, it’s like working in a tree house…amongst leaves in the summertime and overlooking snow-covered rooftops come winter. My collection of vintage scarves covers all four walls.

Buttons brewing. My vintage buttons are sorted by color (somewhat) with the help of these cute glass coffee carafes.

More scarves! These metal lockers which contain supplies and fabric remnants are decoupaged with silk and chiffon scarves. A fun project from Fabric Remix.

There are three sewing machines in my work space, this heavy duty industrial one allows me to experiment on just about anything.

This commercial laundry cart holds a stack of vintage fabrics that I’ve gathered over the years.  I am a sucker for industrial items on wheels.

I love the button carafe’s too! I am a button freak. I have jars but they aren’t sorted or anything. The whole room was so artful and sunny! I loved it.

Oh my gosh, do you think she’d like a studio roommate? Amazing, inspiring place.

I love the patchwork she created with the scarves — AMAZING!!!
